The 700 MHz spectrometer has been renewed, with the installation of a new Bruker Avance NEO console and a high sensitivity 1H/19F/13C/15N cryoprobe. The new system also includes a BNSL nitrogen liquifier to minimize the requirement for weekly nitrogen fills. The update was completed in the summer of 2025 and the new system was accepted in November of 2025. The major benefits of this new system include a) significantly increased signal-to-noise relative to the previous generation Avance I system, b) much improved artifact suppression, c) flatter spectral baselines, d) addition of 19F-detection with high sensitivity, and e) reduced effort for maintenance.
The update of the 700 MHz spectrometer was funded by an NIH S10 High End Instrument award. Thus, any publications which relied on the newly updated 700 MHz spectrometer should acknowledge this award accordingly (see Services page).
